As a creative professional working in this field for the past 20+ years I must say that the clarity of insight Steven Pressfield brings to the human condition through his book The War of Art is impressive. We all struggle in our lives in one area or another with feeling stuck and being unable to move forward, not for a lack of wanting to change or knowing we need to, it just comes down to our natural ability to tell ourselves the stories that perpetuate the myth that all change is dangerous and is to be avoided at all costs.
These stories or barriers are entirely of our making and Steven does a brilliant job of breaking this down into three parts: 1) Understanding the concept of what he calls resistance in all its forms and disguise’s. You have to know who the enemy is before you have a chance of beating it 2) Next he delves into what it takes to combat resistance, what it means to “Turn pro” and finally 3) He speaks to the possibilities of life beyond resistance and what that means to live a life of fulfillment.
This is a powerful examination of the internal obstacles to success, that you will be referring to for years to come. Break through the blocks and win your inner creative battles!
